Acid Tide is a song about getting lost in your own head, trying and failing to gain mastery over the chemicals and hormones that govern your moods. It has always had these lyrics and melody with it, but we released it as an instrumental last year as we didn’t have anyone to sing on it. Fran’s vocals add a whole new dimension to the song though, and now it sounds, to our ears, complete.
lyrics
You bind yourself in knots,
So tight that you can’t move,
Convict yourself of thoughtcrimes,
And be the hangman too,
And now the acid tide recedes,
It’s stripped the shoreline bare of trees,
I’ve got this energy,
A spell to reverse entropy,
You can’t pin down a summer’s day,
You can’t freeze music still,
A second’s too ephemeral,
A moment won’t do you,
Tried to reverse engineer this,
Find the equations and digits,
But can you even tell the time,
Another evening’s passed,
Sundown’s you won’t win back,
You feel yourself go colourblind,
