You were peripheral, Dared not be more or less, To lose the chance of, The scalp around your neck, To lose the sense of, What would have been had it been you, If your hands were his old hands, Could you remake the city anew? And rearrange the brickwork, Illumed by striplit stars, That shine through all your self-deception, Too weak by half for waning hearts, I see what you are, You’re the sum of all your scars, Reins on the bull, You’ve nothing to lose, Thrown in the dirt, If that is what you choose, Cortisol kisses, Won’t bring you to health, You cannot fix, What’s dead in yourself, Well can you burn through, On bitterness alone, Immunise you to the violence, Of the silence waits for you at home, You taught yourself the hard way, The brick is more than bone, And sleeplessness is more, Than all the medicine you own, I see what you are, You’re the sum of all your scars,

You took a trip around the bay, But couldn’t slip the Northern grey, So waited for another day, And wound up in Montpellier, Or could have been Montjuic, Or Montmartre where you viewed it, The Northern fade to shades of grey and black, Inside you loosed it, Your limbs on fire, Like filled with fever, Could carry you to coasts, Could send you south to southern shores, Enough stone shadows, And sodden slate skies, Can we project some silhouettes, In turquoise and violet, Enough stone shadows, And sodden slate skies, Can we project some silhouettes, In turquoise and violet,

Acid Tide 04:16
You bind yourself in knots, So tight that you can’t move, Convict yourself of thoughtcrimes, And be the hangman too, And now the acid tide recedes, It’s stripped the shoreline bare of trees, I’ve got this energy, A spell to reverse entropy, You can’t pin down a summer’s day, You can’t freeze music still, A second’s too ephemeral, A moment won’t do you, Tried to reverse engineer this, Find the equations and digits, But can you even tell the time, Another evening’s passed, Sundown’s you won’t win back, You feel yourself go colourblind,

about

Spiders Eat Vinyl return with their 2019 EP Violet Silhouettes, a collaboration with vocalist Frances Hall. Fran's voice brings to life songs about insomnia and violence, claustrophobia and wanderlust, illness and acceptance; over crisp, intricate beats, chiming guitars loops, and warm textured synthscapes. Drawing from influences as diverse as ambient, post-punk, electronica and indie-pop, it is their most fully realised work to date.
